Dr. George Hazel speaks at World Parking Symposium
29/06/2011

Dr. George Hazel attended and spoke at the World Parking Symposium on the 26th – 29th June, which was held at Niagara College, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada. George presented on the topic of ‘The Future of Mobility’.
George’s presentation included:
- an overview of global trends and how these trends are being fuelled by increasing ICT capability (e.g. the application of smart phone technology to parking management)
- what actually makes a city successful and how cities can move forward to become ‘Best in Class’ (The Seven Deadly Wins)
- why future mobility systems will have to be user focused, seamless and valued by users. (Transport Retail Model)
This means that mobility providers will have to move from the current operations based model to a retailing based model. Although this brings new challenges it also brings significant opportunities including new revenue streams, new added value services and the ability to shape and grow the market dynamically whilst offering better services to customers.
