Strategic Advice for South East England Regional Assembly

MRCMH was commissioned to examine the issues surrounding the national debate on road user charging in the context of the transport needs and characteristics of the SE region. The study aimed to assist the Assembly to engage effectively in this debate with the Department for Transport and other stakeholders.

Transport Innovation Fund bid for South Midlands Councils

MRCMH developed a bid for ‘pump-priming’ TIF funding for this area, one of the government defined growth areas, based on the need to reduce car mode share in parallel with population growth to avoid serious congestion and environmental consequences.

Assisting the Local Government Association develop ‘Breaking the Gridlock’

MRCMH supported the LGA in preparing this paper which set out the Association’s position on road pricing in the light of consultation on the 2007 Local Transport Bill. The paper focused on the government actions needed to support and local authorities wishing to implement road pricing measures.
